Two male Ring Ouzels were noted at Cairngorm on the 9th, one was also present on the afternoon of the 3rd. Numerous Red Grouse were seen at close range throughout the trip & provided pleasing photographic results in good light.

Some Scottish Highlights . . . . I caught up with a fabulous pair of Ptarmigan in the Cairngorms last week which were very approachable and looked stunning in the snow & late afternoon sun - my first British tick of 2009 & a long awaited one! I will update my blog with more Scottish highlights on my return to Suffolk from Scotland at the weekend . . .

I have been a Freelance Bird Photographer, Wildlife Tour Leader and Ecologist since 2005, before that, I was Assistant Warden on Fair Isle, Shetland for 2 years. I have a Nikon D3s, 200-400mm VR and a 300mm VR 2.8mm . . .my dream lens!I am also on the Shetland Bird Club committee as well as Treasurer & Membership Secretary. We run SHETLAND SEABIRD TOURS Ltd. Twice daily wildlife and photography trips to NOSS NNR & Bressay from Victoria Pier, Lerwick in our 9 seater rib cruiser.
